About the organisation
Formerly the North Melbourne Legal Service, we have been providing free legal advice and assistance to our community since 1978. We changed our name to Inner Melbourne Community Legal in 2013 to better reflect the community we serve.
We have a small but dedicated team of staff who are generously supported by volunteers, solicitors, barristers, and law students. We are supported by funding from state and federal government as well as pro bono assistance and support from our corporate partners. https://imcl.org.au/about-us/
About the role
This role is full-time for 12 months, with potential for a further 12 months. The position is employed by IMCL, reporting to the IMCL CEO. It is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in organisational development, governance, change management and finding new ways to meet legal need for vulnerable people. You would work with our passionate and highly-skilled teams and lead/support our innovative process to create a single community legal centre from two long-standing organisations with great reputations for ground breaking work in the social justice arena.
The successful applicant will be experienced in operational management in the NGO sector, great at working with people, understand the community legal sector and be dedicated to promoting access to justice for vulnerable clients.
This position will work closely with IMCL’s fun, dedicated team committed to social justice in our pet friendly office in North Melbourne. You will also spend some time each week working in FKCLC’s welcoming office in Kensington.
