  • Build 3 schools
  • Educate 1,000 students annually including feeding them 3 nutritious meals a day
  • Employ more than 120 adults as teachers, construction workers, cooks and support staff
  • Provide clean drinking water sources to 2 communities
  • Provide 2 health Clinics with full time nurses to treat students and staff
  • Provide solar power and bio-digesters to increase our sustainability
  • Build sustainable businesses employing local people.

This is an opportunity for a motivated self-starter to implement our Fundraising Strategy by developing and executing best practice strategies and techniques to grow School for Life’s pipeline of major donors, corporate partners, Trusts and Foundation donations and bequests.  Your ability to develop relationships will ensure we sustain and extend current partnership arrangements as well as generate new opportunities within the corporate sector. 

We are looking for an energetic professional who is passionate about building a fundraising culture and delivering an outstanding experience for our donors.  You will be organised, flexible and confident to work with a diverse range of people. We expect you will have record of success in a comparable role and have excellent skills in developing and presenting proposals.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Generating fundraising revenue to meet agreed income targets
  • Executing new business partnerships and external relationship management strategies.
  • Maintaining and growing an active pipeline of prospect for major donors and bequests.
  • Developing corporate strategies and tactics for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of corporate partners.
  • Developing and presenting proposals to meet corporate and major donors’ needs
  • Initiate and develop new relationships with individual donors, Trusts and Foundations, corporate partners and high net worth individuals to secure substantial funding.
  • Develop and implement a Bequest Strategy.

You will need to have:

  • A proven track record of success in business development, major gifts and high net worth fundraising and donor relationship management.
  • Superior relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Established connections and networks in the corporate sector.
  • Sound business development and negotiation skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills and the ability to multi task and prioritise.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
