About Amplify Social Impact

Amplify Social Impact (Amplify) is an innovative, world-first solution which will provide thousands of for-purpose organisations with the insights and tools they need to strengthen their work and the outcomes they are attaining.

In addition to strengthening the sector through access to data and impact measurement, we will also select five of the most pressing social issues of our time, to provide evidence and convene stakeholders to better understand the issue, as well as they key levers and interventions we need to collectively work on to amplify social change.

  • $106,710 – $120,233 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading
  • 3 year fixed-term contract
  • Full-time (35 hour week)

The Project Manager – Amplify Social Impact will have overall operational responsibility for the implementation of the Amplify project plan and will oversee the day-to-day management, including project reporting, finances and contract management.

The role reports to the Director – Social Impact Industry and has 2-4 direct reports including a Senior Research Officer; Research Officer; and Research Assistant(s).

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

  • Overall operational leadership and advice on the day-to-day management and implementation of the Amplify project, including; establishing MOUs, contracts and project governance; managing staffing processes and plans; establishing and maintaining project timelines; financial responsibilities and oversight; industry engagement; preparing reports, and timely communications to Project Lead and Working Groups.
  • Collaborating with UNSW central services (e.g. Legal, Finance, HR etc.) to ensure UNSW policies, procedures and requirements are adhered to.
  • Collaborating and liaising with external Amplify Social Impact industry partners and funders to achieve project milestones, deliverables, and benefits and ensure contracts are overseen and delivered upon.
  • Working with CSI Researchers, oversee collection and analysis of data from various governmental and non-governmental data sources, as well as the identification of new indicators, domains or datasets for the Amplify Social Impact online platform.

About the successful applicant

  • Hold a relevant degree and relevant management experience or equivalent competency gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
  • An understanding of the government, for-profit and not-for-profit sectors and experience working with and across sectors.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in project management of large scale, complex projects (preferably that have a technology and research intersection) including management of budgets and financial information, data collection and analysis, measure and report outcomes and ability to work to agreed timelines.
  • Significant experience in financial management and proven ability to interpret and report on financial data and provide high quality advice.
