About the role

Senior Communications Officer

• Leading national not for profit

• Melbourne CBD based

• Salary range $75,000 – $85,000

Are you keen to use your project and event management expertise to support The Healing Foundation, in our work with Stolen Generations members and their descendants highlighting Intergenerational Trauma as one of the root causes of key issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities?

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced communications professional with expertise in event and project management.

Based in the Strategic and Public Communications team, an example day in this role might involve developing and implementing management strategies for projects and events from design, planning, implementation, evaluation to continual risk management.

While we’re interested in the results you’ve achieved in previous project and event management roles, it’s your ability to work with Stolen Generations members and their descendants, exercise sound judgement, solutions-oriented approach, ability to work in a small team and to deadlines while remaining calm under pressure, your excellent attention to detail that will make you really stand out.

You will possess strong writing skills, excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, have experience in managing projects from start to finish and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors and community members.

While there may be some occasional inter/intrastate travel, including to regional and remote locations, this position is mostly based in the Melbourne CBD office supporting the broader organisation; with your amazing organisational skills and an acumen for delivering projects within time and scope. But always remember that in our work we must always ensure we do no more harm, so that it’s not about meeting a deadline at any cost!

Please provide an expression of interest responding to requirements outlined in this advertisement to Michael@healingfoundation.org.au and for any queries please call Michael on 0404 637 078.

Applications close 22 August 2019.
