About the role

  • Full-time, fixed-term contract until 31 January 2020
  • Based in Northern suburbs
  • Create opportunities for talented young people and establish pathways for their future

 

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a passionate and empathetic individual who is committed to supporting young people experiencing difficulties in mainstream education, providing opportunities for growth and supporting education and employment pathways. 

You will have experience in case management and provide responsive services that are inclusive of Aboriginal and culturally diverse young people. Reporting to the Manager of Youth Support, you will have the ability to work independently and deliver case management services to young people and their families with complex needs, ultimately addressing significant barriers that may impact their education and employment pathways.  

 

What do you need to bring?

  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Youth Work
  • Experience working with young people in a learning setting and delivering case management services to those with complex needs
  • Demonstrable experience in taking action and providing services that are inclusive of Aboriginal and culturally diverse young people
  • Experience working with Flexible Learning Options (FLO) programs will be highly regarded
  • A vibrant personality with a client-centred mindset

 

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Provide individualised case management services to young people with complex needs who are disengaged from mainstream school
  • Improve social and emotional wellbeing, supporting learning and establishing links to further education and employment pathways
  • Deliver and plan a range of workshops, including accredited and non-accredited learning programs
  • Coordinate the funding allocated to students, in consultation with schools and managers
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships with external agencies, internal and external stakeholders
