The focus of STARTTS approach is on building capacity and empowering people and communities to take control over their own lives, using a strengths-based approach and building on individual, family, community and cultural strengths.”
The Role
This is an interesting position in implementing STARTTS youth services, engaging young people in meaningful activities and programs that encourage participation, foster skills development and participation in residential programs.
Participating in STARTTS work with schools and youth and children’s services and supporting youth initiatives within various refugee communities.
The successful applicant will be part of a multicultural and multi-disciplinary team.
Skills Required
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in youth work, or significant experience in the area and demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with children and young people from refugee background.
You will be a highly motivated person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively within a multicultural team setting.

Work Type: Full time, 38 hours per week. Contract up to 30 June 2020. Continuation subject to funding.
Location: Fairfield
Salary: Health Education Officer or other relevant classification based on qualifications, experience and requirements of the role.
A generous salary packaging scheme is also offered, to reduce the taxable income and increase the take home pay.
