The Smith Family is a national, independent children’s charity helping Australians experiencing disadvantage to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are currently seeking a Data Strategy Project Officer to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Data Strategy Project Manager and working with a dedicated and passionate team in this pivotal role you will contribute to The Smith Family’s vision, with a particular focus on enabling the delivery of Data Governance, Literacy and Capability and Culture initiatives across the organisation.

A day in the life of a Data Strategy Project Officer might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Input into the Data Enablement Strategy project plan;
  • Support the Project Manager to meet selected milestones and deliverables by phase;
  • Support the change management strategy for the selected deliverables of the project in consultation with the key stakeholders;
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the success of the project; and
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate clearly and with influence when challenges arise.

 

It takes a special kind of person to be our Data Strategy Project Officer. Our successful candidate will bring the following:

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project coordination
  • Experience in applying change management principles
  • Experience working on IT projects
  • Ability to plan and schedule work independently to achieve identified project goals
  • Flexible, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement
  • An appreciation of how data helps us to make better, faster, smarter decisions in our day-to-day work.
