The Jewish Holocaust Centre (JHC) was the fulfilment of a vision by Melbourne Holocaust survivors to create a memorial to the millions of Jews who perished between 1933 and 1945. The JHC was established under the patronage of Yad Vashem, Jerusalem and, from its humble beginnings in 1984, has grown to become an active and internationally recognised institution dedicated to combating racism, hatred and prejudice by fostering tolerance and understanding. It was founded relying on the generous donation of time, materials and money from Holocaust survivors, their families and other supporters.
About the role
- Diverse generalist fundraising role
- Part-time 0.8 position – located in Elsternwick
Reporting directly to the Museum Director, important responsibilities will include
- managing the Strategic, Planning and Operational goals of the JHC development program
- oversee all JHC’s fundraising activities including the annual Yom HaShoah Appeal & Capital Campaign for the JHC redevelopment
- develop new fundraising streams
- donor relations and stewardship
For this important position, ideally you will be tertiary qualified and must have at least 5 years experience working in a similar role with a proven track record. You will need sound marketing & communications skills, excel at relationship management and thrive in a small team environment.
