The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is the largest aid, employment, health and advocacy organisation for people seeking asylum in Australia. The ASRC provides a range of direct services as well as participating in law reform, campaigning and lobbying. 

About the role

ASRC Human Resources Partnership Program

The 12 month fixed term role of Performance and Development Human Resources Partner (P&D) will form a critical part of a new team of 4 specialised HR Professionals. This team will act as the experts in their given HR fields, apply best practices and counsel to staff and work collaboratively to support the growing organisation.

Specific Duties

The P&D Function has 2 key focus areas;

  1. The P&D Partner will provide a full range of HR services to ensure that the ongoing performance and development of staff and volunteers is developed and monitored. 
  2. Working in collaboration with the Leadership Team, Learning and Development Team, fellow HR Partners the P&D HR Partner will be the point of call for Industrial Relations matters and shape the development of our staff.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
  1. Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources or equivalent Business degree
  2. Proven experience in the Industrial Relations and award interpretation (minimum of 2 years)
  3. Proven experience in the navigation and management of grievance matters in accordance to legislation, awards and company’s values and mission 
  4. Experience in the delivery of reports and assessments of Performance and Development initiatives
  5. Experience in developing HR Strategic Plans 
  6. Ability to balance and prioritise tasks whilst handling adhoc HR requests/queries
  7. Proficient in written and verbal communication 
  8. An empathy with asylum seeker cause and commitment to the ASRC’s vision such that the incumbent is able to tailor HR programs to its unique operating environment

 
Desirable:

  1. Current AHRI Membership
