Organisation Name : Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is the largest aid, employment, health and advocacy organisation for people seeking asylum in Australia. The ASRC provides a range of direct services as well as participating in law reform, campaigning and lobbying.  

The issue of people seeking asylum and the work the ASRC does to support them has inspired tens of thousands of Australians to donate to our cause. The ASRC has been very successful in our donor acquisition and fundraising programs over the last 3 years and we now have hundreds of major donors that are currently active in their support as well as hundreds of identified prospects for future growth. 

 

About the role

They will be responsible for the continued development and growth of the major gifts strategy and manage the budget. They will proactively build and cultivate relationships with high net worth individuals to increase income from major gifts.

 

Specific Duties

The Key Relationships Manager will be responsible for undertaking the following duties:

1. Strategy Development 

2. Relationship Management

3. Supporter Communication

4. Supervision

5. Collaboration

6. Reporting & Administration

 
General Responsibilities

The Key Relationship Manager will also be responsible for the following general duties:

  • Recruit, inducting and supervising and volunteers
  • Participating in organisation or stream projects and workshops as requested
 
Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in major gifts or similar fundraising discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills including the ability to present and deliver information confidently and to provide high quality verbal and written communications
  • Demonstrated success working with major donor development, including personal experience in one on one solicitation of major gifts from individuals and trusts and foundations
  • Demonstrated success in building a pipeline of prospective donors and through diligent moves management moving them through to successful solicitation
  • Demonstrated success in developing cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • Demonstrated direct marketing skills and experience including execution of fundraising direct mail
  • Strong commitment to provide high levels of customer service, including exceptional phone manner and ability to adapt communication styles for a range of donors
  • A committed and active team player that demonstrates commitment to the successes of the team but also works well independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds 
  • Experience in building and managing effective teams 

Desirable:

  • Previous budgeting and financial modelling experience when it comes to major donor pipelines and forecasting
  • Experienced with Salesforce or similar CRM moves management or prospect management system
  • Strong understanding of the experiences of people seeking asylum, including the policies that affect them
  • Experience working with and managing volunteers
