The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Our vision is that young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are connected, empowered and influential Australians.
About the role
CMY seeks a Youth Facilitator who will be responsible for engaging young people to participate in CMY’s youth led activities. This role will involve promoting CMY’s work in the Gippsland community and supporting the delivery of youth participation outcomes. This includes providing administrative support to a small team of youth advisors and co-facilitating social and recreational group activities.
- Casual Hours: up to 15.2 hours per fortnight
- Salary (SCHADS 2): $33.98 per hour (includes 25% loading)
- Location: CMY Morwell Office

You will have
- An understanding of and sensitivity to issues affecting young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds;
- An understanding of youth participation and community development principles;
- Experience in delivering programs in partnership with other organisations and an ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people and communities including an understanding of positive group facilitation and training practices;
- Well-developed skills in planning, administration, written and computer; and
- Creativity, flexibility and adaptability to work in changing environments
