About the role
The Director-General, Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women will provide strategic and outcomes-focused leadership to deliver critical services that improve the lives of Queensland’s most vulnerable children, youth, women, men and families.
Delivering on the Queensland Government’s objectives, including Our Future State: Advancing Queensland’s Priorities, your role will be integral in leading and contributing to:
- engaging more young people in education, training and work
- enabling the safety and wellbeing of children and young people—especially those in, or leaving, care
- ending domestic, family and sexual violence
- promoting gender equality
- increasing immunisation rates
- improving readiness for school
- reducing youth suicides
- reducing rates of youth reoffending and crime victimisation.
Your impact will be far reaching. You will have extensive, relevant experience leading community or social services objectives, strategies and agendas in a complex and diverse context. You will be a proven leader of service-delivery innovation and have detailed subject-matter knowledge and experience relevant to the agency.
As a key member of the whole-of-government Leadership Board, you will provide evidence-based, strategic, policy and operational advice to Government in a Westminster system. You will engage with stakeholders, promote collaboration and ensure integrated and ethical decision making is in the public interest. Your leadership will model the public sector values.
