The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare is a not-for-profit peak body representing over 120 member community service organisations spread across the State, enhancing their capacity to deliver services through engagement and voice in State policy and service development.

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare (the Centre) provides representation, professional development, research, policy and program advice, publications and resources to community service organisations in the child, youth and family services sector in Victoria. The Centre works with the community service organisations, the State Government and the broader community to ensure children, young people and families have access to the service and supports they need as and when they are needed.

About the role

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare is currently seeing a contemporary leader to provide strategic direction and operational expertise to enable them to continue the level of service offered to their membership base. Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Manager – Finance and Operations is responsible for managing and ensuring strategic effectiveness and systems in the finance, business and planning operations of the Centre and is a key member of the leadership team. 

As a trusted advisor of the CEO this role requires steadfast financial literacy combined with a natural ability to identify, direct and manage resources in innovative and creative ways. Collaborating effectively internally and with external stakeholders this role requires a skilled approach to building and maintaining relationships across the Child, Youth and Family Services sector.

  • Management and Reporting on Centre businesses
  • Risk Management
  • IT Systems
  • HR Systems
  • Procurement and Contract Management
  • Governance and Compliance
  • Facilities Management.

The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with demonstrated capability in financial and operational management with success in stakeholder management across complex organisations. You will need sound knowledge across audit, financial reporting and compliance, combined with corporate governance and risk management. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate the values exhibited by the Centre and staff and have a genuine interest in working to improve the lives of vulnerable children & families and workings with the Child, Youth and Family Services sector.
