The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is a leading advocacy organisation for people seeking asylum.  We are a value-driven organisation that strives to be part of a movement that helps people seeking asylum by providing direct services such as assistance with accommodation, food provisions, casework and legal services. We campaign and lobby with our sector to drive law reform and policy change.   

About The Role

Overseeing a small team, the Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Finance function and implementing the strategy and direction for the function, as provided by the Director of Finance and Finance Committee. In addition, the role shall identify and implement systems, policies and processes for the Finance function which will improve financial monitoring, accountability and growth across the ASRC.

About You

As a seasoned Finance Manager you hold experience leading small teams and an ability to engage and influence stakeholders to achieve better practice financial management. In addition,  you will also possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience managing the annual audit and preparing annual financial statements
  • Able to provide accurate and relevant financial and business performance advice
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a small-to-medium organisation’s accounting, tax and statutory compliance requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Accounting qualification such as CPA or CA
