UQ’s Faculty of Medicine offers Australia’s largest medical degree program for graduates and school-leavers. An internationally recognised provider of world-class education and research, the Faculty has a gross budget of almost $300 million, employs approximately 1,000 continuing and fixed-term staff, and has a community of more than 4,000 non-salaried academic appointees as well as around 3,200 students.
About the role
The Director of Advancement will lead the advancement activity within the Faculty of Medicine and coordinate the Health Advancement Network. This Network includes the advancement teams in the Faculties of Medicine, Health and Behavioural Sciences (HABS), and the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI).
As a key member of the senior leadership team you will bring extensive philanthropic fundraising experience, at a senior level in tertiary medical advancement and/or healthcare-related institutions, with proven success in identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts. Demonstrated success in leading a complex team, with the ability to engage and motivate groups of diverse stakeholder audiences and volunteer leadership boards to secure strategic partnerships in academic medicine and/or healthcare-related institutions, is also essential.
