Who we’re looking for
As part of our NDIS team at Yarra Junction, EACH is looking for a casual Arts Group Facilitator to provide group facilitation to support people to reduce their social isolation and improve their skills in the arts. If you have a qualification in art (such as a diploma), enjoy variety in your day and working alongside people making real differences to the lives of others, you might be exactly the person we’re looking for!
Strong Art Group facilitation skills suc h as drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, crafts, printmaking, knowledge of kiln firing and experience working in a community setting, supporting people who have mental health challenges, will be integral for success in this role. Customers can range from adolescents to older adults and may be facing a range of mental health challenges requiring support.
What you’ll be doing
Hosting groups of around 10 customers with varying mental health challenges, this is a great opportunity to assist clients in pursuing their artistic passion. Whether it be painting, drawing, sculpting you will be guiding customers to embrace and explore many styles and interests whilst supporting a variety of mental health needs.
Who you’ll be working with
Supported by the Team Coordinator, you will be designing the art program for the customers and running the sessions autonomously. The NDIS Team located at Yarra Junction i s a small but close-knit team, supportive of each other’s skills and open to sharing experience.
