The Organisation
  
The National Health Co-op (NHC) is a member owned co-operative that provides affordable medical and healthcare services to the ACT and NSW communities. Members enjoy access to bulk billed doctors at every NHC clinic.  The NHC also provides a wide range of other primary care services at no or low cost to members including psychology, diabetes education, physiotherapy and dietetics.
  
As the NHC enters into its second decade providing medical services to some 17% of the ACT population the Board has consolidated the strategic direction of the organisation and confirmed their priorities as financial sustainability, effective and robust governance, strengthening core services, and enhancing member and community centricity.

The Role

The main focus of this role is the implementation of the new organisational plan to consolidate the NHC’s market position.  This will be done through the long-term optimisation of NHC properties, timely and effective recruitment of GPs and allied health professionals, the development of strategic partnerships, and accessing other funding opportunities such as grants and gifts.
  
Working with the Board and key stakeholders you will develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the strategic vision and maintain the NHC’s position as a pre-eminent provider of primary healthcare services in the ACT and NSW. Importantly you will build the organisation’s profile, presence, brand awareness and membership base.

Skills Required
  
You have developed your executive career in either a health or clinical setting, community sector or a like-minded corporate, and have a strong level of interest or connection to the health sector. You bring a commercial mindset, long-term vision, gravitas and the ability to relate to a broad mix of staff and medical professionals. 
  
Additionally you can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Business and operational planning, program and service implementation, evaluation and reporting and performance improvement.
  • Experience in membership relations, sponsorship, events, grants and other revenue raising.
  • Demonstrated high-level financial management, analysis and reporting expertise.
  • Experience developing, leading and inspiring teams.
