About the role

  • Permanent full time role based in Wagga Wagga – key leadership team role
  • Reporting directly to the Executive GM of Operations – Influence, lead & take ownership
  • Salary circa $150,000 per annum + super + access to salary packaging opportunities
  • Oversee our Disability Services across NSW (Murrumbidgee, Orana Far West) & QLD

LiveBetter are a regionally based Community Services provider operating across NSW & QLD. Following the amalgamation of many organisations we are focusing on the consolidation and optimisation of our services to ensure that our Disability Services and Out of Home Care teams are best equipped to provide quality services to our customers, enabling them to live their best possible lives. This is where the Head of Disability Services, NSW South/QLD will play a key role.

The Role

The Head of Disability Services, NSW South/QLD will be responsible for leading LiveBetter’s Disability Services across our Southern Region NSW (encompassing Murrumbidgee and Orana Far West) and QLD (encompassing Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Mackay) with the support of local Area Managers.  The role is crucial to LiveBetter’s continued success as a leading provider of Disability Services in this region. The role owns accountability for programs and daily operations, service budget and provides support to all service managers and teams along with managing external relationships, image and reputation.  Some core responsibilities for this position include:

  • Exercising control and being directly accountable for the profitability of the services delivered in Disability (Southern Region NSW and QLD) and Out of Home Care Services, as well as expenditure and resources to ensure they are acquired and utilised in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Managing the operations in accordance with legislation, relevant standards, funding contracts and internal policy.
  • Ensuring participant opportunities are maximised and all associated funds are managed and claimed from the NDIA, State and Commonwealth funding agreements.
  • Active Leadership of the continuous quality improvement of Disability Services / Out of Home Care.
  • Initiating business development opportunities, evaluating tender opportunities and participating in tender and submission writing.
  • Ensuring quality in service delivery to customers utilising person-centred approaches.
  • Developing an operating budget and managing operations within budget.
  • Recruiting, motivating and leading a team that supports the culture, values, and business objectives of LiveBetter.
  • Managing relationships with external agencies and liaising as appropriate to ensure program delivery for customers.
  • Supporting and promoting the work of LiveBetter, maintaining a positive image of the organisation in accordance with level of position.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you are a savvy leader who is passionate about making an impact in the lives of people accessing our community based services. You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or at least 5 years’ experience managing programs that support community-based services with a particular focus on Disability Services. To be successful in this role, you will also have these key skills:

  • Demonstrated understanding of budgets and disability funding models along with experience in financial management of operations.
  • High level planning skills along with well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to resolve critical risks and issues.
  • Experience operating within a complex, dynamic, and high-volume environment along with excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the care and protection of service users.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and management at a high level.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills along with the ability to negotiate.
  • Ability to use initiative, think laterally and strategically, to meet deadlines and produce quality work under pressure.
