About the organisation

Organisation Name : People for Purpose for Asthma Australia

Asthma Australia is a for-purpose, consumer organisation with a history of improving the lives of people with asthma. It operates across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory to deliver evidence-based prevention and health strategies to more than half a million people each year. Asthma Australia works in partnership with the Asthma Foundations of Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Asthma Australia helps people to live their life. To breathe easy. And not just to live, but to have a full and empowered life, striving for goals and achieving them. A life without limits.

At Asthma Australia they are a team.  They value each individual’s unique and diverse contribution to the whole. They know that in order to do good, they need to be great. Being part of their team is not for the light-hearted – they are bold, they think big and they inspire. Everything that they do is about empowering people with asthma to live life to the fullest.  Their teams work hard, but also value life outside work, it’s what keeps them interesting. Their well-being is essential to us, so we stay progressive, working with patients, to make it a place for them. Flexible working options, continuous learning and development partnered with competitive salaries help make their national footprint a happy one.

About the role

Rare opportunity for a self-starter to be part of a person-centred organisation on an exciting transformation journey.

  • Play a key role as part of the senior leadership team
  • Be challenged and rewarded while making a difference
  • Enjoy a flexible and progressive workplace

The main priority of the Senior Manager People and Culture is to empower leaders and managers to lead highly engaged, innovative teams who live and breathe our values. The role does this by providing coaching and advice in best practice leadership practice and behaviours. An average day could see you coaching a manager in how to approach a difficult conversation, designing and delivering learning and leadership initiatives, supporting or leading an organisational change program or contributing to the strategic direction setting of the organisation as part of the senior leadership team. In this diverse role, no two days are the same and you will find yourself positively challenged to drive great people outcomes for the organisation. This role has a high level of autonomy, with the freedom to push the organisation’s thinking about people practices and ways of working – you will be the people and culture expert for the organisation. The organisation is on an incredible journey and you will play a key role in making sure the high performance, innovative culture supports this and that the right people are in the right role with the right capabilities at the right time. About you You are someone who puts people first. You are passionate about empowering people to bring their best selves to work. You aren’t afraid to challenge the boundaries; you know what works but you are always seeking out what’s next. You are a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and manage your and your teams’ priorities with limited supervision. You bring your experience working as a people and culture leader in a fast-moving organisation where you have driven positive change for the organisation and its people. Importantly, you understand the seriousness of the work the organisation does but know how to not take yourself too seriously.
