Ipswich Regional Advocacy Services Inc (IRASI) is a not for profit community-based service organisation and registered charity incorporated and regulated by the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission. It is generally regarded by the community sector and government as delivering an excellent standard of service in accordance with our client’s needs. 

We support vulnerable and marginalised people in our community by advocating and by providing advice, information, and representation to individuals through our QSTARS tenancy program and Disability advocacy program to assist them to make informed decisions about their lives, participation, and contribution within their communities. Forming a skilled and committed Management Committee, volunteer Directors are working with and supporting the Services Manager and staff to continue to expand and develop the capacity of IRASI to contribute to human rights and social justice. 

 

About the role

We are specifically seeking new directors with qualifications and substantial experience in Grants and Philanthropy, Capital management, and Community relations.

Importantly, not only do you have a belief in human rights, social equity and the importance of stable housing, but in addition to your grants and philanthropy, capital management, and community relations skills, you have the professional experience and qualifications to contribute to our strategic development. You also have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and have, or be eligible to obtain a Working with Children Positive Notice Blue Card and Disability Service Positive Notice Yellow Card.

Governance experience is essential – preferably as a member either of a NFP Board or a Management Committee.
