About the role
The Loop+ continuous care platform will transform the way that wheelchair users manage and optimise their health. A key part of this development relies on technical leadership to ensure quality outcomes for the Loop+ product range.
There is an opening at Loop+ for an Engineering Lead to support the team and drive the successful development of the loop+ platform.
You will help us scale our engineering capabilities, growing a geographically distributed team of software engineers and partnering with our external hardware vendor. You’ll work closely with Product, Client Services and others in the organisation to deeply understand business problems and deliver technical solutions.
Our tech stack includes Python, mobile platforms, AWS [IOT core, Cognito].
TECHNICAL OUTCOMES FOR THE ROLE:
- Challenge the technical team to design the most appropriate solutions that meet the company goals, are scalable for future direction whilst appropriate for current needs and timeframes.
- Be accountable for the technology team – recruitment, performance, learning and delivery.
Understand codebases owned by the team. Able to review designs and architecture and contribute to code where necessary
Pragmatically promote the quality and scalability of the systems and guiding both the tech and product teams to balance trade-offs.
Build out the data platform – validate, implement and scale the cloud infrastructure.
- Create a collaborative, supportive environment for the team and provide regular coaching, mentoring, and feedback to engineers.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR A SUCCESSFUL START:
Demonstrated experience building and architecting reliable, data driven software systems, in an agile environment.
Engineering management and technical leadership experience with a track record of building and leading highly productive, agile technical teams.
Experience with and understanding of data architectures, systems deployment methods, information management, preferably in an AWS environment.
Experience in systems level engineering and building platform components/ services for distributed systems.
Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts between product strategy, ops, design and engineering.
Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity and attention to detail.
- Align the business and product stakeholders with the tech team with tight development scope, and ensure the speed and integrity of decision making.
YOUR EXTRA EXPERIENCE WOULD BE HIGHLY VALUED:
