About the role
The AEF is keen to broaden its footprint and grow its customer base across Australia due to its expansion as a truly national organisation. The AEF is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals with sales and business development skills to lead a team and drive growth. The role will be responsible for strategic sales, leading the development of services and programs to ensure strategic alignment, and establishing market engagement approaches locally and nationally. As a newly-created position the Business Development Manager, in conjunction with the General Manager – Partnerships & Engagement, will shape the structure and focus of the team to identify and convert new leads to repeat revenue. Key targets will include businesses and government customers.
To be considered you will be aligned to the values and objectives of the AEF and have a passion and hunger for securing new business that drives impact; you’ll have a good appreciation of and experience in rigorous sales planning, including a mix of lead identification, key account management and most importantly the ability to identify and convert an opportunity. Your track record will demonstrate consistent success in a sales environment, with a curiosity and willingness to improve and develop your approach. Negotiation skills, along with a good knowledge of the sales life-cycle process, including detailed sales planning and reporting, will be key to your success. Naturally, your hunger to succeed, along with outstanding presentation skills will be evident, whilst your persistence and resilience will set you apart from others. As a manager you will be able to lead, inspire and coach others to develop their skills and build a high performing team.
