About the role

WHIN is seeking to appoint a 0.6 EFT Women’s Health Promotion Gender Equity Training  Officer. The Training Officer will be a member of the Health Promotion Team. The position is responsible for the coordination, development, delivery, and evaluation of training to promote gender equity and prevent violence against women. This is fixed term until term 12 month contract until 30th June 2021.

Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for contributing to improved health, safety and wellbeing outcomes for women in the northern metropolitan region of Melbourne and supporting WHIN to maximise its impact and to meet its strategic objectives.

The role will be responsible for the coordination, delivery and evaluation of gender equity and preventing violence against women training and consultancy in workplaces and community settings.  The role will also have a key focus on increasing WHIN’s fee-for-service training income and expanding WHIN’s reach into new sectors.

To succeed in this role you will have:

·         Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, gender studies, community development and/or a social policy discipline (or equivalent experience).

·         Demonstrated knowledge of gender equity and preventing violence against women theory and practice, including current policies and frameworks.

·         Understanding of and commitment to intersectional feminism and addressing gender inequities in relation to women’s health, safety and wellbeing.

·         Extensive experience in planning, delivering and evaluating training on gender equity and preventing violence against women.

·         Experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships and partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders.

·         Excellent communication skills – verbal, non-verbal and written.

·         Strong project planning, time management and organisational skills.

·         Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and respond flexibly to team demands and priorities.

The successful applicant will also be required to hold a Victorian driver’s licence.
