About the opportunity
The Tenancy Assistance and Advocacy Program (TAAP) is funded by Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) and delivered state-wide by 17 community agencies, including housing agencies and community legal centres. This position is based at Broadmeadows.
A primary objective of the role is to work with other agencies to provide a quality service that assists Victorians who are financially disadvantaged (or victims of family violence) and have a private tenancy agreement or are a resident under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (RTA).
The TAAP Worker will connect with internal and external services providing this program and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About you
We are seeking an experienced and energetic TAAP Worker to provide a quality tenancy service through tenant referral, engagement and service delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess the skills and expertise to provide a range of client interventions including provision of information and service referral, negotiating with relevant parties to resolve client tenancy issues and to also provide support with VCAT applications and hearings.
You will possess highly developed inter-personal, negotiation and advocacy skills and the ability to relate well to a range of stakeholders. A sound knowledge of RTA legislation and VCAT processes is required.
