Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) Counsellor, to join EACH in a part-time (.8FTE) capacity. If you’re passionate about providing quality services to a diverse clientele, with a hopeful inclusive and informed approach, then you might be the exact person we’re looking for!

Having completed an appropriate tertiary qualification in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing and/or AOD related field (degree or higher), our ideal candidate will also have an understanding and experience in providing therapeutic approaches and counselling to adults with substance use and/or co-occurring mental health concerns.

What you’ll be doing
On a typical day you will see 4 or 5 clients for therapeutic counselling and undergo casework in collaboration with the rest of the team and wider health networks. You will attend allocation meetings with the team to manage risk and allocate according to priority guidelines. You will also work closely with the teams Peer Support Worker and Project Hope Worker to reduce stigma to those experiencing mental health or substance use issues.

Who you’ll be working with
Reporting into the Counselling and Support Team Leader, your position sits within the Counselling, Assessment and Support Team, a part of the Child, Adult and Family Services Program (CAFS) of Primary Health Services. A di verse multidisciplinary team of service delivery professionals committed to help those from all walks of life.
