About the role

Who we’re looking for
If you’re an experienced Family Violence Counsellor, qualified with a Social Work degree, Multi Agency Risk assessment and management (MARAM) training at advanced level, a minimum of 3 years of experience working in family violence sector/environment and enjoys working with like-minded service delivery professionals, this might be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

You will have a specialist level of skill knowledge and expertise in family violence working with people who are or have been affected by their experience of family violence, and effective time management to manage a client load with trauma related to family violence and other traumatic events whilst assessing risk and managing safety responses.

A high level of communication, both written and oral, including familiarity with use of electronic documentation, presentation, liaison and networking skills will also be valuable.

What you’ll be doing
A typical day will be responding to family violence risk and utilising the MARAM framework to assess risk. Providing therapeutic counselling and casework to support clients experiencing family violence. Supporting clients to navigate the service sectors with possible assistance with housing, legal aid, children’s services, and or financial brokerage and working collaboratively with other services of EACH and agencies within the partnership.

As you will be working within a remote team, with colleagues across other funded services and the broader EACH community it is important that you possess excellent interpersonal skills to deliver accordingly.

Who you’ll be working with
The family violence team is one of the many programs that make up the larger Counselling and Support Team. With over 20 staff in the team supported by a hands on Team Leader.
