About the role

Operations Manager

We are currently seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to be based in our National office in Hawthorn. This is a 2-year term contract role with the possibility of an extension on the completion of the 2nd year, the role will be part time, 3.5 days per week and allows for some flexibility with regard to the days, in which the role is performed. Please note, initially this role is to be based from home under the current government restrictions.

The requirements of the role will play a key part in our exciting, yet challenging change journey. This position will suit a person who is passionate about solution-focused innovation, team building and operational leadership/management within a faith-based NFP organisation.

Your outstanding communication and leadership skills are a vital part of this role; along with an understanding of who we are and what our Mission is. These are key requirements to secure this excellent opportunity to work within a team of people who are dedicated to the support of our organisation’s vision and teams across the globe.

Defined duties

  • Play a vital role in the organisation’s change/transition process, bringing a commitment to solution-oriented, continuous improvement and innovation
  • Oversee and manage a new Operations Team, including finance, risk/compliance, IT, payroll, and fundraising/donor functions
  • Deliver enhancements to financial control frameworks and process
  • Deliver management reporting including budgets and forecast
  • Oversee all operational finance deliverables including AP/AR and payroll support
  • Provide financial reporting to the Executive Director, Leadership Team, Compliance Committee and Board
  • Support the Executive Director and Leadership Team in risk management and mitigation strategies
    Oversee statutory, compliance and PBI requirements
  • Manage Treasury risk for the organisation
  • Play a key role in identifying and implementing integrated IT and financial system change across the organisation
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and key external stakeholders
    Provide General analysis and advice to the Leadership Team

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • Alignment with our vision, mission, and values
  • A passionate team/people leader and team player
  • A change manager
  • CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
  • Experience in a FC or similar finance role with a SME
  • End-to-end finance ownership
  • Strong risk mindset and an interest in building a robust governance structure
  • Deep understanding of Australian accounting standards
  • Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory reporting requirements
  • A good understanding of IT and finance systems
