About the role

Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF) Australia is excited to offer the opportunity to join the CCF Australia Advisory Board of passionate and dedicated people who want to make a transformational difference to the lives of some of the world’s most impoverished kids, helping to turn them into tomorrow’s leaders.

To this end, CCF Australia seeks two well-rounded and highly engaged candidates to join its Advisory Board.

Ideal candidates will be well-networked, strategic thinkers who are able to help CCF Australia grow awareness and profile in Australia to maximise Australia’s impact in the CCF community based in the garbage dump community on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. https://www.cambodianchildrensfund.org/our-mission

We are seeking individuals with expertise or a background in one or more of the following: strategy, fundraising, finance, marketing, communications, media, education, science and technology, healthcare, or the Not for Profit sector.

Specific responsibilities

  1. Serve as the primary advisor to the CCF Australia Board Chair and key senior CCF staff on matters within your particular sphere of expertise and lead any Board level projects as needed.
  2. In collaboration with senior CCF staff and other Board Members, play a key role in overseeing CCF Australia’s general financial health by participating in the review and approval of budgets and audited financial statements.
  3. Advise on CCFA’s fundraising strategy including setting an Australian fundraising target that the Australian Board can drive. For example, by supporting the annual CCF Gala, promoting awareness of and advocating for CCF sponsors, becoming a CCF sponsor and donor and/or leveraging your network to secure financial donation(s)/gift(s), sponsorship, and/or grants from foundations and/or other grant makers.
  4. Act as an ambassador of CCF and raise awareness of CCF and its profile in the community wherever possible.
  5. Attend scheduled Board meetings (approximately 4 times per year in addition to ad hoc board meetings) and special events a few times per year.
  6. Maintain a personal commitment to the mission, vision and values of CCF.

Board Term and Time Commitment

CCF Australia Board Members serve a three-year term after which time they are eligible for reappointment.

This role is voluntary. The expected time commitment is approximately 10 – 12 hours per month. This is in addition to your commitment and Board roles and responsibilities.
