Volunteer Training & Education Coordinator

The role of Volunteer Training & Education Coordinator is crucial to the successful delivery of telephone support services at WIRE. WIRE Volunteer Telephone support Line workers are provided with tailored training that enables them to provide evidence-informed, high quality support to Victoria women, non-binary and gender diverse people.

The Volunteer Training and Education Coordinator is responsible for preparing trainees to use the WIRE service delivery model to support callers on the WIRE phone support line.

The role of the Volunteer Training & Education Coordinator is to deliver and coordinate WIRE’s volunteer training to approximately 50 – 60 trainees per year and to work with the Service Delivery Manager to transition trainees into the role of telephone support line workers.

Qualifications

A Degree or Diploma of Community Work, Education or other relevant qualifications plus significant industry experience is essential.

Responsibilities

1. The Volunteer Education Coordinator will lead the delivery of WIRE’s internal Volunteer Support Worker Training program and create a learning environment that supports adult learning principles by recognizing the diverse and unique learning styles of all learners including learners for which English is a second language.
2. In consultation and collaboration with the Social Enterprise and Training Manager (SETM) and CEO ensure that WIRE training has consistency across all aspects of WIRE and aligns with WIRE’s values as an intersectional feminist organisation.
3. Work collaboratively with the Service Delivery Manager to establish and implement annual training and volunteer engagement development plan for WIRE Volunteers.
4. To participate in the review, development and operations of the organisation as a member of the staff team.
