RISE Education Coordinator (Grafton, 3 days/wk)

Your New Company
SHINE for Kids is a national non-profit provider of youth programs across 4 states. To lead this team, you will need to be passionate about child protection, social justice, and mitigating family fragmentation which can result from a family member entering incarceration.

Your New Role
As a key Team Leader, the Clarence Valley Education Coordinator builds school partnerships and mentorship programs to support at-risk primary school children. Develop and hold a co-design meeting with schools and relevant community organisations to foster wrap around support for children with a parent incarcerated. You will be leading tailored programs to increase school attendance, educational outcomes, self-esteem, antisocial behaviour, and school suspensions.

What you need to succeed

• Education/social work qualifications plus ample practical experience
• Professional written/verbal communications and documentation skills
• Working both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
• The ability to recruit and coordinate a team of up to 30 mentors
• Regular check-ins with schools, families, mentors to review progress
• Building partnerships with 12 local schools, identifying youth in need
• Developing affiliations with relevant community-based networks
• Stakeholder relationships: parents, carers, corrective services staff
• Running teacher training workshops to build need awareness
• Drives Work Health & Safety, SOPS, documents case notes carefully
• Clear Working With Children’s Check, and Criminal Record Clearances
• A current driver’s license and willingness to travel if required
