The Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) is a peak organisation in the disability sector representing people with lived experience of disability.
AFDO works to develop a community where people with disability can participate in all aspects of social, economic, political and cultural life. AFDO provides systemic representation, policy advice, key projects to build the capacity of people with disability and their representative organisations as well as disability focused consultancy.
About the role
This position is only available for those who identify as a person with disability as allowed under ‘special measures’ of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010, no other applicants will be considered.
The Australian Federation of Disability Organisations, a Disabled People’s Organisation and a National Cross-Disability Peak, represents people with disability and their families, and is looking for an experienced Projects Support Officer with relevant skills to fulfil this role.

See more about us at; www.afdo.org.auThis position reports to the National Manager – Policy, Sustainability, Initiatives & Projects (NM-PSIP), and assists in increasing AFDO’s profile and connection with aligned organisations, governments, the private sector, funders, the philanthropic sector by assisting in ensuring projects are supported to deliver required outcomes on time, in full compliance and to all reporting deadlines. The main function of this role is to work with the NM-PSIP and assist relevant project coordinators in the delivery of their specific activity(ies) in line with the funded requirements.
You must have a minimum of 2 years operating in a similar role within or outside of the sector.
This is a part-time role working Tuesday to Thursday each week, with an initial 12 month contract and potential for renewal subject to results. We have a remote “home office” operating environment and great flexibility along with other benefits and a great team environment. Ideally, we are seeking the candidate to commence immediately.
