Eastern Domestic Violence Service (EDVOS) is a leading specialist family violence service in Victoria. Our work is focused across seven Local Government Areas including Boroondara, Manningham, Whitehorse, Monash, Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges. Some of our training, education and primary prevention programs are national. EDVOS is predominantly funded to work with women and children. It is recognised that being female is the biggest risk factor for experiencing family violence. EDVOS acknowledges that family violence can take many forms such as intimate partner violence, child abuse, elder abuse, carer abuse, parental abuse and sibling abuse. Our specialist family violence response services are mostly directed towards women, including women from the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) communities, children, pets and other animals, who are responding to any form of family violence.

About the role

  • Permanent contract
  • .08 – 1.0 FTE (30.4 – 38 hours per week)

EDVOS has a requirement for a Finance Officer (Accounts Payable) to join our existing Finance team on a permanent contract, and is a .08 – 1.0 FTE position. Reporting to the Finance Manager this position sits within our Corporate Services division. 

The Finance Officer is responsible for the accounts payable function, distribution of gift card vouchers under the “Flexible Support Packages Program”, responding to accounts related queries with a high level of customer service, and associated month end/financial year end processes including the annual external audit.

Essential to your success

  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping (minimum).
  • Experience in accounts payable, with a small to medium enterprise, including solid understanding of GST and withholding obligations.
  • Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Business Central and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Reckon/Quickbooks would be useful as it will contain archived financial data.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to take tasks through to completion, whilst working under pressure, and meet predetermined/tight/competing deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong problem-solving mindset.
  • High attention to detail.
  • A continuous improvement mindset in approaching all tasks.
  • Strict observance of the confidentiality of sensitive information.

EDVOS hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9am until 8pm and Saturday from 9am until 5pm.

This position generally requires availability on Monday-Fridays only

Salary for this position will be aligned with SCHADS Level 4 + 9.5% super.
