Empowering people with Dignity, our mission is to prevent, respond to and end homelessness in Australia.
At Dignity, we believe we can collaboratively end homelessness in Australia. To do this, we empower people who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Dignity currently provides supported temporary accommodation and stable housing for up to 250 people every night of the year and operates multiple programs to prevent homelessness including food relief and education across NSW. About the role
Dignity is currently recruiting a full-time Senior Support Worker to join our team who deeply values the dignity of every person regardless of their background.
Are you an experienced manager, able to work independently, an excellent communicator, able to maintain confidentiality, have your own motor vehicle and able to make decisions? If so, please do get in touch.
Having a bucket load of common sense and good sense of humour is also essential!
MAIN DUTIES
- To model Dignity to each guest, staff member, contractor, supplier or visitor.
- Ensure that all functions of the district are operating safely in a cost effective and timely manner in alignment with protocols, procedures, and all legislative demands.
- Supervise and train support staff, and any other operational staff in the district to develop positive working relationships with all.
- Refer to and work collaboratively with government and non government agencies.
- Work closely with the Volunteers Coordinator to maximise the contribution of volunteers.
- Co-ordinate maintenance and repairs and ensure they are rectified in a timely manner
- Manage rosters within budget constraints
- Create and support a positive and dynamic team
- Set up and maintain new properties as needed
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a manager or team leader in the social services sector
- Understanding of organisational effectiveness and operations management

Qualifications & Requirements (or willingness to obtain):
- Unrestricted Driver’s Licence and own vehicle
- First aid certificate
- Working with Children Check
- DV Alert Certificate
- Trauma informed Care Training
- Two referees whom we can contact
Dignity can assist the successful candidate to undertake First Aid, DV Alert and Trauma Informed Care training.
