About the role

If you’re an Adolescent and Youth Nurse, with experience in delivering direct youth health services to young people, enjoy variety in your day and working closely with other service delivery professionals, you might be exactly the person we’re looking for!
As part of our headspace team Dandenong, EACH is looking for a Nurse with Registration as Division 1 Nurse with AHPRA, Post Graduate qualifications in related degree such as adolescent health or sexual and reproductive health would be desirable to deliver direct clinical support, health information and education to young people and services within headspace centres as well as local schools under the ‘Doctors in Secondary Schools’ initiative.

What you’ll be doing
On any given day you will use your demonstrated experience in health screening, intake and risk assessments with young people, your clinical skills (nursing) and significant experience in working with diverse groups of young people and your ability to work independently and as part of a team. Your skills and understanding of health promotion principles and practice in providing health education to young people and ability to work in partnership with local government, schools and other health and community providers will be essential skills for this role. Knowledge of management and administrative techniques, processes and systems, e.g. Quality Assurance, tender processes, office administrative systems; preferably complemented by an understanding of the community health service environment will also be useful.

Who you’ll be working with
This role sits within the Youth Health Clinic stream at headspace centres Dandenong, Narre Warren & Pakenham. The services provided by the adolescent & youth health nurse form part of the integrated clinical services platform within the headspace centres. In conjunction with the Lead Centre Services, Lead GP, Senior Youth Health Nurse and headspace Services Manager, ensure the efficient functioning of the Youth Health Clinic. Working with other professionals, our team is dedicated to giving clients the best possible support.
