About Rough Patch
Rough Patch is an affordable counselling and mental health care service that provides counselling, referrals, and other supports. Our mission is to make it easier and more affordable for everyone to access mental health supports and resources.Rough Patch is the first service of its kind in Australia, using a non-profit social enterprise model. We offer counsellors very low cost room rentals and wrap around business services that allow them to pass on these savings to clients, in turn reducing the cost of counselling. In addition to offering reduced-fee counselling, we have a mental health shop that sells a counsellor-curated selection of books, mental health resources and self-care items that build better mental health. The shop allows Rough Patch to generate income which ensures our sustainability, as well as creates a soft entry-point for people who may not need or want counselling.
