Organisation Name : Shoalhaven Women's Resource Group

Shoalhaven Women's Resource Group has been operating since 1983, providing support services and case management support to the women of the Shoalhaven.  They work with women from all cultural and religious backgrounds, inclusive of sexual identity, financial and social status.   They seek to facilitate sustainable outcomes, healthy connections to community and support women to lead fulfilling lives.

Current services include:

  • Short term temporary accommodation (when available)
  • Assistance with public and private housing
  • Assistance to connect to a range of community services after release
  • Support to stay out of prison or drug & alcohol rehab
  • Practical assistance to obtain personal documents
  • Resume and letter writing
  • Transport, advocacy, and support to attend appointments
  • Court support

About the role

This is an inaugural CEO position that will be responsible for the development and delivery of the strategic plan with the support of a skills-based board and a team of dedicated and professional women.  For more information on the current services please visit https://www.swrg.org.au/about-us/.

A key aspect of this role will be business growth.  You will be responsible for increasing services through philanthropic fundraising, partnerships with funding bodies (local, state and federal government) and tender and grant writing.  The CEO will turn innovative ideas into sustainable revenue streams by expanding existing programs, developing new programs and a social enterprise start up.

You must demonstrate innovative and sound business development experience and skill as well as qualifications and/or experience in general management ie finance, HR, marketing and risk and compliance and of course organisation governance.

You will also be the figurehead of the service and increase the reputation and profile of the to all relevant stakeholders including the community and various, funding bodies, philanthropic and corporate supporters and other partners in the community.

In order to be successful in the role, you must have an understanding and a commitment to social justice for women, be an inspirational and authentic leader who wants to make a difference to women inside and outside of the organisation.
