VAADA is a non-government peak organization representing publicly funded Victorian alcohol and other drug (AOD) services. VAADA aims to support and promote strategies that prevent and reduce the harms associated with AOD use across the Victorian community.

The Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association (VAADA) is seeking a creative, independent and self-motivated individual, with a background in AOD treatment or similar social service, to lead three workforce development projects designed to build the capacity of the AOD workforce and strengthen cross sector engagement.

Focused on three Primary Health Network (PHN) regions, this role will deliver a schedule of activities and identify new workforce development initiatives to fill gaps or meet the needs of participants and respective regions.

Focused on professional development and building the capacity of AOD sector staff, the role will also facilitate linkages and relationship building between participating agencies and partners while looking for opportunities to strengthen intra-sector and cross sector relationships.

The ideal candidate will have experience in workforce development/ capacity building, project management, implementation of targeted initiatives and a background in client-facing service delivery. You will have facilitated numerous face to face and online meetings or forums, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. While you may not be a clinician by training, you will also understand the language of treatment in a social services context. The ability to work independently and collaboratively (within a small team environment) will also be a part of your skill set.

The duration of this role is for 12 months from commencement. Continuation is subject to performance and renewed funding.

Salary and conditions of service will be in accordance with the contractual arrangements and package. Salary will be based on SCHCADS Award plus a 10% VAADA premium in the range $77,000 to $87,791 per annum. Plus super and salary packaging options.
