About the role

The social media coordinator is the expert who will take our social media and digital content strategy to the next level, helping us secure new funding sources by reaching new audiences and potential donors.  We are seeking a customer-focussed social media content creator who can write in headlines and understands digital marketing, SEO, trends, language etc.

Reporting to the Communications and Media Manager, the Social Media Coordinator is responsible for delivering the communications team’s social media content across multiple platforms with the objective to grow and retain target audiences across all channels.

You will need to demonstrate the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (i.e. journalism, communications or public relations) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  • At least three years specialist experience and a demonstrated record of achievement in social media.
  • Proven communications skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Digital skills – graphic design, video, accessibility.
  • Experience using 3rd party applications and software, including social media management tools, website content management systems, video editing tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, plus Mailchimp or similar.
