About the role
FITZROY
- Contribute to a life-changing program
- Multiple roles available – casual shifts and two-year fixed term (0.6EFT to 0.8EFT), immediate start
- $37.91 per hour + casual loading for casual roles
- Penalties and site allowances
- $74,910 base (Prorata) + super + NFP salary sacrifice option for fixed-term positions
- Shifts will be overnight only
About the role:
We are currently seeking passionate Support Workers to join the dedicated team at our Fitzroy site. This is a COVID-19 Isolation and Recovery Facility. The site accommodates single persons whom are required to isolate due to being suspected COVID-19 and awaiting results or designated as a primary close contact to someone with COVID-19.
Support Workers provide support to residents, maintain safety within the accommodation service and provide an effective, safe and well-functioning environment. Support Workers will offer careful consideration of the residents’ individual and diverse needs whilst encouraging the residents’
independence, empowerment, autonomy and dignity. The role will be based in Fitzroy.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in human services, social work or other related disciplines
- Experience in the delivery of support services to people with complex needs relating to homelessness
- Demonstrated understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems
- Experience in the homelessness sector
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others towards effective client solutions
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience in responding to critical incidents and emergency procedures including defusing client behavior
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
