The Organisation:                
Located in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, our client provides support to the disadvantaged people within the community. It does this by providing personalised assistance to individuals, accommodation, and advocacy on behalf of those who need it.

The Role:              
You will be responsible for the management of the current Health & Safety processes as well as for the establishment of a Safety Management System approach to the organisation’s safe system of work. You will also review, improve and establish suitable management reporting mechanisms across the Executive Management Team and Board.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Provision of ongoing health and safety advice
  • Management of health and safety communication, consultation, and awareness
  • Supporting people managers to maintain a healthy and safe working environment for their teams
  • Developing and implementing initiatives to improve employee health and safety
  • Building constructive relationships with management and staff to enable collaboration to implement targeted health and safety initiatives
  • Supporting COVID-19, pandemic and operating climate requirements and changes to ensure the health and safety of staff is prioritised
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with all internal and external health and safety standards and requirements
The Person:
To be successful in the role you must have:
  • Experience in a senior OH&S role
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing Health and Safety Management Systems within organisations providing high-risk services
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing risk-based approaches to health and safety management
  • Relevant OHS/WHS qualifications
  • A current, full driver’s licence.

A National police check and Working with Children Check will also need to be obtained.

The Offer:
A full-time equivalent salary of circa $110K including Superannuation is on offer. Initially offered on a fixed term six-month contract with a likelihood to extend. Full time, but part-time (0.8) is also on offer. In addition, you will be able to access attractive PBI/NFP salary packaging and remote working options.
