headspace Batemans Bay provides young people with access to Allied Health Professionals and community supports to assist young people to access the support they need to develop and maintain the skills and confidence to live healthy and happy lives. headspace Batemans Bay also engages in community awareness and seeks to develop and implement innovative programs to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people in the region.  Relationships Australia Canberra & Region is the lead agency for headspace Batemans Bay and is supported by a Consortium.

About the role

The headspace Practice Administrator ensures the provision of practice support to headspace Batemans Bay in a clinical environment to ensure the smooth running of the service. As part of the headspace leadership team, contributes to the strategic planning of services, contribute to ensuring the financial viability of existing services and help with workforce planning.

The Practice Administrator:

  • supervises and trains administration staff in all reception duties, including phone answering, booking clients, computer data entry, client billing and banking;
  • ensures the data required for the reporting process is collected and stored according to headspace and Relationships Australia Canberra & Region policies and procedures;
  • monitors GP and other allied health practitioner appointments and liaise with case managers where appropriate on information needed prior to appointment;
  • monitors private and GP Medicare accounts and ensure prompt follow up of all outstanding accounts

 

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  1. At least a certificate IV in business or a related field and demonstrated experience in office coordination and overseeing/supervising staff in a client service environment.
  2. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage respectfully and sensitively with young people, health practitioners and external stakeholders.
  3. Ability to work in a highly productive environment with time pressures whilst managing multiple tasks.
  4. Proficiency with technology including the ability to use Microsoft Office applications and the capacity to quickly learn new technologies including electronic client management systems.

This is a fixed-term, part-time (0.6) position available until 30 June 2022 with possibility of extension – based in Batemans Bay.
