About the role

GetUp is looking for an experienced Senior Creative Lead to lead our exceptionally talented Creative Team to produce bold, whip smart, human and sometimes irreverent content that drive engagement across digital and traditional media platforms and more impactful campaigns. 

SCHADS Classification Level 6-7 salary range is $92,703.52- $104,446.68 per annum (pro-rata) + superannuation, determined by relevant experience and qualifications.

This is a permanent position based in Sydney.

Who is the Creative Team

GetUp’s Creative Team is a high performing team made up of designers, video producers, editors and content experts. The Creative Team works closely with GetUp campaigners to develop innovative creative content including producing; TV and digital video projects, crafting cut-through design products, and sharing stories that rally our progressive base.

 

The Senior Creative Lead will be responsible for:

  • Devising and driving creative strategy in accordance with team goals and organisational strategy;
  • Overseeing the production of high quality creative campaign and brand collateral across all of GetUp’s new media channels;
  • Managing and contributing to the production of creative and brand collateral;
  • Leading on collaborations with campaigners to generate creative content ideas and innovate new ways to incorporate them into campaigns;
  • Leading collaboration with GetUp’s distribution team of social media and ads specialists to ensure content is being produced inline with distribution strategy; 
  • Overseeing creative team processes and forward planning;
  • Building a strong team culture of experimentation, innovation, evaluation and learning; and
  • Managing creative staff to success, including setting and monitoring work outcomes.

 

You will be someone who is/has:

  • passionate about growing and strengthening a movement of everyday people committed to creating change on progressive issues;
  • you are excited by new media and, and are across the latest in best practice digital content creation;
  • capable of thinking through how to communicate complex politics or policy through video, design and creative copy; 
  • Played a senior role in the development and execution of bold creative campaigns that have driven impact;
  • can lead a team to juggle competing priorities in the end-to-end creation of quality video, graphic and other creative content that speaks to diverse audiences across a range of platforms;
  • able to use metrics and analytics to analyse and improve creative content, who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven office environment;
  • capable of working autonomously on a range of varied tasks and projects, and takes the initiative in rolling up your sleeves to get the job done;
  • the ability to be a formidable manager who can coordinate a team to success, celebrate the work of others and ensure the continued development of your direct reports; and
  • has at least 4 years of professional experience in content creation with a speciality in one or more of the following: graphic design, videography or copywriting. 

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience producing creative products that change hearts and minds;
  • Experience (or a very keen interest) in politics or the media cycle; and
  • Experience designing and executing successful content strategies.

If even a couple of these criteria speak to you, you could be the perfect person for the job. Formal education, qualifications and extensive experience matter less to us than excellence, initiative and drive.
