About the organisation

Organisation Name : Melbourne Fringe

Melbourne Fringe democratises the arts. Our vision is cultural democracy – empowering anyone to
realise their right to creative expression. We support the development and presentation of artworks by,
with and for Melbourne’s people, running the annual Melbourne Fringe Festival, the year-round venue
Fringe Common Rooms at Trades Hall, and a range of arts sector leadership programs. We believe that
access to the arts and creative expression are fundamental rights of our citizenship and vital to a
creative, healthy, cohesive society.

Melbourne Fringe is a forward-thinking, creative and inclusive organisation. Our thinking is out of the
box, our work ethic is strong, and we don’t let our limited resources stop us from making seemingly
impossible things happen. We ensure that our workplace is characterised by big-picture thinking,
optimism and playfulness. We strive for continual improvement in all aspects of our work.
We have a reputation as a caring, energetic, fast paced workplace that values our people, their mental
health and what they have for lunch as key priorities.

We believe that great work is made by people who enjoy what they do.

About the role

Love working with the dollars and cents? Are you often screaming ‘show me the money!’, like you’re on the set of Jerry Maguire? At Melbourne Fringe we’re looking for a part-time Finance Manager – someone who will look at those numbers on screen and turn them into beautiful, detailed financial analysis.

This is a new role, overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of Fringe including payroll, invoicing, remittances and other transactions. You’ll put money in the pockets of around 20-30 core and contract staff, rising to 70+ during the Festival period… which is a pretty great way to make new friends in a workplace, right?! You’ll also contribute to compliance reporting, and will lead the annual financial audit process alongside the General Manager.

So if you have the skillz to literally pay the billz, fill out our simple application form below by 10am 31 January 2022. We’re looking for someone to start on 21 Feb 2022 (date negotiable).

If you’d like to find out more about the role, please contact Erin Muller on erin@melbournefringe.com.au or 03 9660 9600.
