Trusts & Foundations Specialist

The NORTH Foundation has a clear and simple mission to improve community wellbeing by supporting innovative health research and the delivery of exceptional patient care. The NORTH Foundation is proud to be the registered charity for the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD), serving as the fundraising partner for Royal North Shore, Ryde and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai hospitals and the Kolling Institute of Medical Research. Fundraising is vital to ensure the NSLHD can meet challenges ahead by embracing discovery and learning, building partnerships and engaging the community to deliver excellent health and wellbeing.

Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Trusts & Foundations Specialist will develop targeted philanthropic trust submissions to help fund NORTH Foundation’s priority needs. The position will be responsible for coordinating the identification, cultivation, solicitation, submission writing, reporting and ongoing stewardship of Trusts and Foundations to ultimately drive income growth, leading to improved outcomes and impact.

Managing and prioritising the application and acquittal process will be important to build a sustainable Trusts & Foundations program, as will the ability to build and coordinate an efficient and ongoing pipeline of funding opportunities from philanthropic Trusts and Foundations. You will work with the research program and other key stakeholders to identify projects and present opportunities for funders to partner with NORTH Foundation on strategic and innovative projects.

This is an opportunity to drive NORTH Foundation’s T&F fundraising program from infancy stages with growth potential, into a strategic, impactful and thriving revenue stream. Proven success in writing compelling cases for support and sophisticated funding applications is essential, along with strong communication skills to convey outcomes, evidence, learnings and impact. Attention to detail will be important to maintain accurate records in the database of submissions, acquittals, donor contacts and other key relationships, plus internal stakeholders across NORTH Foundation. Sound knowledge of the philanthropic landscape is required and FIA Membership and/or CFRE is highly regarded.
