The Older Adults Services team provides individually planned and coordinated supports and services for older people to remain living life independently, the way they would like.

About the role

Support for older people involves helping them to live independently, fully, and with dignity. As part of our team based in Epping, we are looking for casual Home Care Workers to assist our older adult clients in their homes, helping them to maintain and develop their independence so that they can lead enriching and fulfilling lives.

If you’re a Home Care Worker, qualified as either a Cert III in Individual Support/Aged Care, and want to have a positive impact on the lives of older adults, you might be exactly the person we’re looking for!

What you’ll be doing

In line with your commitment to customer care, you will deliver individual support to older adults in the Inner East North East region of Melbourne. The support you provide may include:

  • following and implementing individual care or service delivery plans for members of our community in their homes,
  • providing domestic assistance duties such as cleaning, laundry, bill paying and meal preparation
  • assisting with transport to attend appointments,
  • helping the person participate in community events or recreational activities and social outings, and
  • providing companionship, conversation, and emotional support.

You will be working a regular roster of fixed hours (Monday to Friday only), and support rostered hours for existing staff leave and at times of increased demand for customers in the community.

 

Who you’ll be working with

Reporting into the Team Leader – Older Adult Services, you will be part of a wider team of service coordinators and case managers to effectively support your customer’s needs. It’s a team full of dynamic and motivated individuals who are passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of those affected elders in their communities.

 

Who we are looking for

Along with your passion for helping others, you will:

  • have experience delivering high-quality person-centred support and assistance to individuals that embraces their personal goals and choices, and respects cultural diversity,
  • be an effective communicator and natural relationship builder,
  • be effective working independently and collaboratively with your team, clients, customers their carers and families, and other service providers, and
  • have a demonstrated ability to complete administrative tasks to the required standard and detail to meet quality and reporting requirements.

Ideally you will also have:

  • Level 1 First Aid and current CPR certification
  • Current state-based Drivers License with registered vehicle and minimum third-party car insurance
