At the Foundation, we support our staff to work flexibly, both in location and hours, based on the premise that work will remain the focus of any arrangement. This 1-year contract role may be extended, and is based in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Attendance to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation head office in South Melbourne to connect with the team may be required occasionally.
About the role
The role:
Reporting into the Trauma Consultancy Service (TraCS) Program Manager, this full-time, 1 year contract role will deliver trauma informed support to a number of kindergartens in western suburbs of Melbourne.
Some responsibilities include:
- Provide coaching and support to teachers and early childhood educators to work with children whose lives have been affected by trauma.
- Creating plans which support children to develop pro-social skills.
- Support referrals and links to relevant services that support children and families experiencing vulnerability.
- Maintain accurate and up to date client management and statistical records.
- Proactively contribute to program developments and improvements.

Experience required:
- A tertiary qualification in social welfare, with eligibility for membership of professional organization
- Minimum 5 years’ experience providing high quality, complex case management to children, youth and families in the context of violence or abuse and trauma.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practice models and theories relating to children, families, trauma and violence or abuse.
- Demonstrated experience in translating relevant and emerging knowledge and theory into practice.
- Hold a current drivers’ license and willingness and ability to use own vehicle (expense reimbursement provided).
