About the role
This position presents an opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary to provide high quality care to public dental patients. As a dental assistant you will be responsible for supporting the Oral Health Unit in the provision of efficient and effective dental health services to clients in accordance with appropriate clinical standards and policies to ensure an integrated approach to client care. This role is suitable for applicants seeking 4-5 days of work pending availability.
About you:
Key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare, maintain, and manage the dental clinic to a high infection control standard
- Provide clinical chairside assistance to Dentists, Dental Therapists and Oral Health Therapists within the Sunbury clinic and offsite during outreach services
- Assist in re-processing of instruments, which may include podiatry and dental instruments
- Administrative support to the dental team as required
Required Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent
Desirable Experience:
- Minimum 12-months recent experience working as a dental assistant within Australia/New Zealand
- Certificate VI in Sterilisation Services or Oral Health Promotion
The successful candidate will be required to undertake and maintain a National Criminal History Check (NCHC), an NDIS Safety Screening check and hold a current valid Working With Children Check. As a healthcare provider, all our staff will need to be vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a medical exemption by an authorised medical practitioner.
