About the role

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Museums Victoria, Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Philanthropy. We are looking for motivated and organised individual to join the Development team to support the implementation of a successful philanthropy program by securing and servicing fundraising revenue from a diverse range of philanthropic sources including (but not limited to) major grants, individual donors, trusts and foundations. The Senior Coordinator, Philanthropy will provide outstanding account management for a broad portfolio of philanthropic supporters and drive best practice process and administration for Development initiatives.

Working with Museums Victoria Development team, core functions of this position include:  

  • Authoring funding proposals and securinjg major philanthropic funding from trusts, foundations and donors for priority projects, exhibitions, programs, acquisitions and other Museums Victoria initiatives to achieve annual income targets.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and account management to Museums Victoria’s philanthropic supporters and ensuring funded initiatives are delivered within budget and to agreed KPIs. This includes regular progress reports and working with a range of Museums Victoria departments and stakeholders to identify opportunities for engagement.
  • Maintaining accurate files, records and other information relating to engagement and communication with donors and philanthropic supporters in relevant centralised systems and locations, including CRM. Performing accurate and timely reporting, receipting and invoicing and efficiently follow systems and processes.

Relevant skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience and a record of success in applying for and securing major gifts and grants from trusts, foundations and individual donors, including funding proposal development, budgeting, reporting and servicing of funding agreements.
  • Exceptional customer service and account management capabilities, monitoring donor and stakeholder satisfaction, proactively identifying opportunities for future support and constructively dealing with stakeholder issues in a positive, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with a strong ability to organise, plan and prioritise work and competing demands.
  • A proven ability to apply a high level of (written and verbal) communication, negotiation and presentation skills to confidently convey ideas and information and successfully engage a broad range of stakeholders, individuals and organisations. Experienced in preparing briefs, letters, e-mails, presentations and reports using grammatically concise and correct language.
  • A proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritise work and multi-task in a dynamic environment, including identifying, developing and implementing processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal, reviewing and adjusting as required.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager, this is an exceptional opportunity for a committed individual to apply their skills and gain experience in supporting the Development team. This role is a full-time, ongoing. The salary on offer is $90,067 per annum (Base of grade) plus 10% superannuation.
