Due to growth and expansion the Wellbeing Support Service for Older Adults (WSSOA) Program at Star Health is seeking to recruit an additional Senior Psychologist to our team.
The successful applicants will provide in-reach counseling and individually tailored interventions to older adult residents living in residential aged care facilities (RACFs) who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns. The successful applicant will be required to attend and work independently from a cluster of RACFs.
The Program covers the local government areas (LGAs) of Port Phillip, Stonnington, Glen Eira, Bayside, Kingston, Frankston, Dandenong, Casey & Cardinia. Practitioners are allocated to provide service to RACFs across 2 LGAs.
Please note: These positions may be offered as full-time or part-time (1.0 EFT to 0.6 EFT) to appropriate candidates.
Ideally, you will possess:
- A professional qualification in Psychology or Clinical Psychology (with AHPRA registration)
- Experience in working with older adults and/or mental health counselling. Minimum of 3 years direct counselling experience or 5 years in the field.
- Demonstrated ability to provide day-to-day task supervision to clinical psych & psych students undertaking field education placements
with the program. - Excellent knowledge of working with older adults or Mental Health counseling.
- A clear understanding of service provision using a client-centred, recovery-orientated mental health framework.
