Due to growth and expansion, the Wellbeing Support Service for Older Adults (WSSOA) Program at Star Health is seeking to recruit an additional Senior Social Worker to our team.

The successful applicants will provide in-reach counseling and individually tailored interventions to older adult residents living in residential aged care facilities (RACFs) who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns. The successful applicant will be required to attend and work independently from a cluster of RACFs.

The Program covers the local government areas (LGAs) of Port Phillip, Stonnington, Glen Eira, Bayside, Kingston, Frankston, Dandenong, Casey & Cardinia. Practitioners are allocated to provide service to RACFs across 2 LGAs.

Please note: These positions may be offered as full-time or part-time (min 0.8 EFT ) to appropriate candidates.

Ideally, you will possess:

• A professional qualification in Social Work degree (need to be AASW eligible)
• Experience in working with elderly clients and/or mental health counselling. Minimum 8 years client work- can be with other client groups
• Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision to students undertaking field education.
• Excellent knowledge of working with older adults or Mental Health counseling.
• A clear understanding of service provision using a client-centred, recovery-orientated mental health framework.
